Crypt Walkers Preview - Halloween Update


Trick or Treat for Halloween!

v0.02.0 Crypt Walkers preview update is out.

Not all goals were achieved, but its definitely progress. So right from the changelog…

Added

  • New spell, “Fire Column”.
  • Many missing sound effects.
  • Player position and facing indicator.
  • Experimental support for xbox gamepads.
  • Linux support.

Improved

  • Fire, and other visual effects.
  • MobSpawners are now animated, and support further customization.
  • Preloading of material/shader resources, to minimize runtime hiccups.

Fixed

  • Hard lock when enemy count reached maximum.
  • Kills from magic spells were not being tallied.
  • Enemies spawned too closely would shoot into space.
  • Corpses should not pile up indefinitely.

Documentation

  • Improved manual formatting and content.

Updated

  • Godot updated to 4.5.1.

Still no mission objectives or loadout or items or loot yet. You’ll just play this until you die or get tired. But all of that stuff is coming (eventually).

My plan has been for weekly or bi-weekly updates. But November in particular is going to be a slow month for crypt walkers development. Too many real life matters I’ve put off, with the list growing longer. So gotta play catch up. But will shoot for at least 1 update by month’s end. Hopefully things will go back to full speed when December comes around.
